The Sacred Belongs to You
Working title
There is a part of you that knew something before you were told what you were supposed to believe.
Before the rules.
Before the certainty.
Before someone else decided what it meant to be good, acceptable, spiritual, faithful, or whole.
This book is about finding that part again.
Not by rejecting everything you were taught. Not by replacing one set of answers with another. And not by telling you what you should believe instead.
By noticing what happens when the beliefs, expectations, and prescriptions you've inherited don't quite match what you know somewhere deeper.
In this book, Nature becomes witness, terrain, and ally. She doesn't hand you the answers. She shares personal stories and gives you room to notice what is already there.
The Tree of Life becomes a deeper lens, too—not as a system you have to adopt, as a way of exploring the relationship between what you've been given and what you know for yourself.
I'll be walking beside you.
I've been in this terrain, too. I've experienced the strange push and pull between what I was told and what something inside me kept quietly insisting was true.
Maybe you know that terrain.
Maybe there has always been a part of you that didn't quite surrender.
That's the part I'm interested in.
Book Two explores spiritual identity, inherited beliefs, inner knowing, and the experience of questioning the expectations we've been given about what it means to be good, spiritual, faithful, or whole. Through personal stories, Nature, and the Tree of Life, Sarah Woodard explores what it might mean to reconnect with a deeper sense of knowing that existed before the prescriptive overlay.
