Think of it like this: You and your BFF head out to reach the same destination using your phones’ GPSes. You’re not leaving from the same place, you’ll both run into different traffic patterns, potential issues with your vehicles (though hopefully not!), and different road & weather conditions.
Even though you hope to arrive at the destination close to the same time, the ways you get there, the challenges you face, and the tools and skills you need to deal with them will be different.
Spiritual growth is the same way. We’re each navigating our own path. The harder part is that most people don’t have the map, the GPS, to help them get there. And that, my friend, makes all the difference.
Think how hard it would be to get somewhere you’ve never been without a GPS or, in a pinch, an old-school paper map. Pretty much impossible for most of us.
